Technische Universität Dresden is one of the top universities in Germany and Europe: strong in research, with an outstanding range and quality of degree programs, featuring close networks with culture, industry and society. As a modern university with 17 faculties in 5 Schools, TUD offers a broad academic spectrum that is unique in Germany. It is the largest university in Saxony. The TU Dresden campus family comprises around 30,000 students and 8,700 employees - 600 of whom are professors.
Since 2012, TUD has been one of Germany’s eleven Universities of Excellence. In 2019, it successfully defended this title.
Lifelong learning at TU Dresden
TU Dresden is an educational institution for lifelong learning, anchored in the heart of society. People of all ages and walks of life who seek education benefit from the special courses and programs offered by the partner institutions, in particular the Dresden International University (DIU), which was founded on the initiative of TU Dresden. We consider science-based learning as an option for personal and professional development at every stage of life. The courses offered range from the Children's University and early study courses, continuing education master's degree programs, (micro) certificate courses, guest student options and individual, customized continuing education courses to events at the Seniors' Academy.
Lifelong studying means understanding the university as an academic educational institution to which you can return throughout your life with ever new educational goals.
